What are coir fibre mats?

Our coir fibre mats and fibre bales are made from 100% coir - a waste product from harvested coconut husks.

Also known as coco fibre or coco peat, the brown fibre is soaked, cleaned and dried before being layered and rolled out into coir sheets. These sheets are then cut to specific sizes to make coir fibre mats or thinly layered to make coir fibre bales.

The thick, bushy coir fibre mats can be rolled out and laid over soil areas as an effective weed control barrier, allowing for the passage of water and nutrients but preventing weeds from poking through.
